The Health Care Reform Debate is Heating Up Around the Country
Posted by: | CommentsThe Health Care Reform debate is heating up around the country
Well it appears that everyone around the country as well as the politicians in Washington DC are focusing on President Obama’s Health care Reform. Some people are saying that the proposed Health Care Reform is just another name for socialized medicine or a is in fact a nationalized health care program.
But that’s not really what President Obama’s plan calls for. In fact socialized medicine or a nationalized health care program is typically funded with government funds and the medical treatment is delivered by government doctors. Obama’s plan does not focus on the government providing treatment to patients.
The Obama plan calls for a public health care option that is government financed but is delivered by private sector doctors and medical providers. This will allow patients to continue visiting their doctors and private health care centers as they would normally do. The Obama option gives patients a low cost alternative to private insurance.
Presumably the public health care option will be a lower cost alternative but will probably have more restrictions than the private insurance option. The benefit is that Americans will now have access to the health care we all need.
The public debate will continue thoughout the country and in Washington in the coming months. Consequently, the final version of the public health care option may have a different focus when all is said and done in Washington.
