Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Symptoms
Posted by: | CommentsType 2 Diabetes Mellitus Symptoms
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus is the most common form of diabetes. Type 2 Diabetes is a metabolic disorder that is primarily identified by its insulin resistance, relative insulin deficiency, and hyperglycemia.
This is a chronic illness that will require long term medical care. In type 2 diabetes the body does not produce enough insulin.
Insulin is vital because it allows our body to process sugar. Sugar provides the energy for the cells in the body and insulin takes the sugar from the blood into the cells.
Type 2 Diabetes is becoming a very common illness in our modern society. Unfortunately, obesity plays a big role in individuals developing this type of diabetes.
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Causes

Type 2 Diabetes is the most common form of diabetes known. In fact there are millions of Americans that have been diagnosed with this illness. Unfortunately many Americans are not aware that they are at risk for this illness.
Type 2 Diabetes is a chronic illness that requires long term medical care. Insulin is produced in the pancreas gland. It stimulates body cells to take up glucose from the blood and convert the glucose to glycogen.
The body cells convert the glycogen to glucose and use it when energy is needed. In this manner insulin maintains the glucose level in the blood at a normal level.
In Diabetes type 2, the cells in the body do not react properly to insulin. Therefore they do not take in enough glucose from the blood to store it or to use it as energy source.
This is commonly known as insulin resistance. The insulin production can increase or decrease in order to try to maintain the blood glucose at an adequate level.
Diabetes Treatment Using Insulin
Posted by: | CommentsDiabetes Treatment Using Insulin
Insulin is used to treat diabetes. but what is Insulin? Insulin is a naturally occurring hormone secreted by the pancreas. Many people that suffer with diabetes are prescribed insulin.
This happens because their bodies do not produce enough insulin. This is typically what occurs in the case of Type 1 diabetes.
There are many types of insulin sold in the US. In fact there are more than 20 types of insulin sold. The various types of insulin vary in how they are made and how they work. Your physician can advise you which type is right for you.
Insulin plays a very important role in our bodies:
- It regulates sugar in the bloodstream. The primary function of insulin is to maintain the level of sugar in the bloodstream within a normal range. After we eat, the carbohydrates in our foods break down into sugar and enter the bloodstream in the form of glucose. Normally the pancreas responds by producing insulin, which allows sugar to enter the tissues.
How The Immune System Works
Posted by: | CommentsHow The Immune System Works:
Our immune system is made up of cells, proteins and organism that operate to defend us against invaders.
Our immune system is incredibly important because it defends us against infectious organisms. It works to identify pathogens than the other cells, such as tumors, that can cause diseases and then to eliminate them from the body.
It accomplishes this using several different types of cells and integrating many of the vitamins and trace minerals required for biological and biochemical processes.
The job of the immune system is very difficult because these particular pathogens and cells can adapt themselves or redesign themselves which challenges our immune system. However, the immune system is also complex with specific cells that have specialized functions.
Our immune system is quite resilient and can adapt to changes. After exposure to a specific pathogen it will update its response within the body that helps the antibodies to recognize a pathogen and respond more quickly the next time the body is attacked. This will help our body to respond better.
Levitra Effectiveness

Levitra effectiveness is quite high among men suffering from Erectile Dysfunction (ED). It is also one of the most commonly prescribed drugs for ED. This prescription medicine was co-developed by Bayer AG and GlaxoSmithKline.
Levitra was the second drug to be approved for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. It acts as a reverse phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE5) inhibitor. Levitra relaxes the blood vessels and muscles in the male sex organ which increases the flow of blood which ultimately results in an erection.
A report published in the recent edition of the “Cochrane Library Journal” has described Levitra as an effective treatment for erectile dysfunction men afflicted with diabetes?
And according to information published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, Vardenafil HCl is effective in treating the erectile dysfunction in men under high blood pressure medications. This is a good news for the patients of hypertension who suffer from mild to severe degree of erectile dysfunction.
Levitra functions in a similar manner to Viagra and Cialis. All of these medications are PDe-5 inhibitors that relax the muscles and blood vessels in the penis which results in a natural erection. It should not be taken more than once day. The recommended dose is 20 mg once a day.
Does Hepatitis Cause Liver Cancer?
Posted by: | CommentsDoes Hepatitis Cause Liver Cancer?
The word ‘Hepatitis’ means inflammation of the liver and Hepatitis C is an infection of the liver caused by the hepatitis C virus (HCV) The presence of HCV in the liver triggers the human immune system, which leads to inflammation.
It is believed that specific parts of the hepatitis B and C virus gradually enters the liver cells, and once they are absorbed, the genetic code of cells begins to change. This causes the liver cells to divide into cancerous or malignant cells. Hepatitis C is responsible for cirrhosis (scarring of the liver).
Doctors have found that Liver cancer does not develop immediately following an infection. Most people who eventually develop liver cancer have lived with hepatitis for a great part of their life.
Scarring of the Liver is an irreversible condition that results in the death of many liver cells. This decreases the livers ability to function properly. When this happens the liver is prone to illnesses such as cancer. Typically, it takes about ten to fifteen years for liver cancer to occur after scarring occurs.
Chronic liver infection by both hepatitis B and C inflames the liver and kills liver cells. When these liver cells are damaged or destroyed, the body has to constantly replace them.
Doctors have found that when cells are being replaced too frequently, there is increased danger that mutations within the cells will be passed along until the cells lose their ability to control their own growth.

So what are Foods high in antioxidants? Well to begin antioxidants are substances that protect our bodies cells against the effects of free radicals.
Free radicals are molecules that are normally produced in the body during metabolism of food or when we are exposed to environmental toxins.
With antioxidants our body can handle free radicals. Antioxidants are molecules that safely interact with these free radicals and terminate the chain reaction.
The enzyme systems in the body that helped to neutralize free radicals as well as antioxidant vitamins and minerals which include vitamin E., beta-carotene, vitamin C and selenium.
Research that has shown that antioxidant vitamins play in the reduction of heart disease.
