These foods  provide a good mix of nutrients including complex carbohydrates that provide the steady supply of energy you will need throughout the day. They will also keep your blood sugar levels consistent.

The other important factor of  a diet for people with type 2 diabetes is how often they eat during the day. In general instead of eating two or three big meals a day, you should eat five or six smaller meals throughout the day. This is great because it helps to avoid the big blood sugar spikes that are occur after eating big meals. Eating smaller meals will keep you blood sugars at a steady level which is easier to control.

People suffering with Type 2 diabetes can no no longer produce enough insulin on demand to keep the blood glucose levels in their body within the normal range. Many of these individuals people with Type 2 diabetes cannot produce enough insulin to cope with the sharp rise in blood glucose that occurs after eating a meal.

Another rule of thumb is to avoid carbohydrates  including white & processed rice, bread. You can eat these things in moderation, but try  to eat them before 7 p.m. This will give your body time to process the sugars in them.

You should always consult with your doctor before beginning any diet or taking any medication.
