Free Medicine for Children
The nation’s pharmaceutical companies realize that many families and their children don’t have the financial resources to pay for their medicines. Astonishing as this may seem, 1 out of every 5 households doesn’t have health insurance whatsoever. Often families must choose between paying for necessary everyday items or buying their medications.
Many of our country’s pharmaceutical companies have initiated programs where people who lack the necessary funds to purchase their badly needed medicine can obtain them at no cost. These programs are sponsored by both large and small drug companies. The programs are typically known as “Patient Assistance Programs.” Most drug companies have implemented these programs for their newest and most costly drugs.
Some people will doubt the sincerity of these free medical programs. But they really are free. In fact many drug companies will provide the children’s medication for free or for a low cost. In the majority of cases, the children’s parents will need to complete an application, and provide valid documentation attesting to their income. Once the application has been processed and validated eligible patients will receive their free medications quickly.
Many patients decide to work with a company that offers assistance in completing the applications. Some of these firm charge a small processing fee. However, this service is typically not necessary as individuals can apply on-line themselves.
Most of the patient assistance programs are quite simple to apply for. But they require that applicants follow the application guidelines carefully and completly.
The basic process is as follows:
Once obtaining a prescription from their doctor, the children’s parents should do some preliminary research on-line to find out whether the drug manufacturer offers a patient assistance program for this particular medication. If there is a suitable Patient Assistance Program, then the parents need to verify their eligibility requirements and complete the application process.
After the application is submitted and reviewed the family will be notified as to whether they qualified or if they will need to submit additional information. Once the process is completed the free medicine for children will arrive in the mail in 2 to 4 weeks.
These programs are not difficult to apply to and the financial rewards are significant.
