Well what should you do to loose wight quickly and safely? Well it all depends on what stage in life you are in and how fit you are.
If you are 20 years old the scenario will be different tan when you are 40 years old. Individuals in their 40’s are typically busy with income producing activities and may not lead a very active lifestyle. In addition their metabolism will be slower than a 20 year old.
The basal metabolic rate which is defined as the number of calories required for you to live each day, if you lead a totally sedentary lifestyle.
While calories are the unit of measure for energy. They represent how much energy is required in order to perform a specific activity.
In fact there are exercise calculators which allow you to register a particular activity and they will calculate how many calories are necessary to accomplish it. Of course the number of calories will vary according to your age, height and weight. These factors are required in order to determine the number of calories that are burned while performing a specific activity.
If we consider both sets of criteria we can determine how many calories are required to perform the basic functions to survive.
Another way of looking at this is that in order to lose 1 pound of body weight a week we need to eat 500 less calories than we normally do over a seven-day period. In other words, seven times 500 is 3500 calories and 1 pound of body weight.
The weight loss formula we described above will work the same regardless if someone is 20 years old or 40 years old. it will typically be true whether you are following a particular diet or you are just watching the food you eat. In reality losing weight quickly and safely consists of nothing more than eating less calories each day then you burn.
As we get older our metabolism slows down and it becomes more difficult for us to loose weight. But there are some things we can do to jumpstart our metabolism and keep it up throughout the day. We will need to burn more calories in order to loose the extra pounds.
We should all establish a health exercise program. Doctors recommend that we perform 30 minutes of moderate exercise five days a week. This will help our heart, lungs and entire respiratory system to work more effectively and efficiently and will increase the rate at which we burn calories for at least 15 hours after we have stopped exercising.
We should all monitor how many calories we eat on a daily basis. If we do this on a consistent basis we will be able to track and monitor the foods we are eating. Starting a weight loss journal is a great idea. it will keep us focused and motivated.
Loosing weight at any age can be challenging. However, if we are focused and dedicated we can be successful. We need to focus on eating the right kinds of foods and increasing our weekly exercise.
