Symptoms of Breast Cancer
Fortunately, breast cancer can now be detected early in its initial stages of development. The best way to detect and identify the presence of breast cancer is to have a mammogram performed.
Since some benign breast lumps are often similar to the lumps indicating breast cancer, it’s advisable to verify the presence of cancer cell growth with a mammogram.
A clinical breast test can be done by a nurse or your doctor. This is the first step in the detection of lumps and whether there may be early signs of breast cancer. Read below to learn more about the symptoms of breast cancer:
Symptom#1: Swelling
This is the most dreaded finding a woman can make on her beast-lumps! All women are aware that lumps can be the possible early signs of a breast cancer and it is important to undergo a thorough checkup with your doctor if you find the growth of lumps in any of your breast. Additionally, there can be swelling in the armpit as well, that is caused by the swelling of the lymph nodes.
Symptom#2: Discharge
Any kind of abnormal discharge from the nipples can mean the presence of breast cancer. If you experience discharge of fluids either clear or whitish, check with a doctor immediately. Sometimes the discharge can be bloody, which means that you are in an advanced stage of breast cancer growth.
Symptom#3: pain
Pain can accompanied by of the symptoms above and can be present on the breast are or the nipples. Sometimes the nipples can be retracted or inverted in appearance. There can be scaly skin developing around the nipple area too.
Symptom#4: tenderness
There is persistent feeling of tenderness in the breast accompanied by pain or discomfort
Symptom#5: Calcification
There can be a calcified feeling or a hard lump developing in the breast when you squeeze it. There can be a dense mass you can feel growing inside the breasts that can cause pain when pressed or squeeze.
Symptom#6: Bone Pain
If the cancer cells have spread to the bones there can be bone pain in the adjoining areas or the ribs. There can be a sudden drop in appetite too.
